Safety and Emergency Preparedness

Create a physical environment that promotes student and staff safety through established protocols and procedures, appropriate internal and external security systems, and routine emergency preparations.

Key Strategies - Physical Safety

  • Conduct a Comprehensive Facility School Safety Assessment at each campus.

  • Create a Districtwide assessment of technology enhancements, including cameras to improve safety at each school site and at the District Office.

  • Develop an action plan and budget for each school site.

  • Base facility improvements at each school site won the Planned Maintenance Schedule in the Action Plan. Improvements will be prioritized and phased in, as determined in the schedule action plan.

  • Create standardized safety measures across the District.

Emergency and Disaster Preparedness

Administrators, teachers, staff, parents, and students work together to promote and maintain school-wide safety and minimize the effects of emergencies and other dangerous situations.

  • Include safety and emergency preparedness training at New Hire Orientations.
